I pet sit all types of animals--rabbits, birds, ferrets, fish--not just dogs and cats. When you leave your dog or cat for long periods of time they can become stressed. Placing your companion in a kennel might seem like a good idea, but this can be traumatic for any animal. This is especially true if your pet is elderly or on medication.

Keeping your pet in its home setting will make him more at ease while you are away. He'll be able to sleep in his special spot, eat from his regular bowl, and follow his normal everyday routine. Of course, he will miss you, but this will be his only change--you not being home--which he will adjust to a lot faster than being put in a cage in a strange place.

In-your-home pet sitting allows you the freedom of doing what you have to do without the hassle of calling all over town for a place to leave your pet. During certain times of the year kennels are fully booked, which makes it impossible to find a vacancy. Many of these kennels require you to book in advance, which can be a problem if there is an emergency and you must leave town immediately. There are also many added fees at some of these places like charging you to give your dog playtime--or even a bone!

You don't have to go on a trip to use a pet sitter. Maybe you have to work late or maybe you have to go into work early and your pet needs to be taken care of. Not a problem! Whatever the reason, you can be assured that your companion will not be neglected and he will be safe and happy at home.

If you foresee the need for a "dog" sitter, you must call for an appointment so I can "meet & greet" your dog before you go away. (Obviously, a dog that has never met me may not allow me to enter your home.)
